You may not realize it, but taxes and investments go hand-in-hand. At
Hartmann Financial Group, we understand the importance of this
dichotomy, which is why we offer competitively priced tax planning
and preparation services as a companion to investment services.
For new clients, we will review your tax returns from previous years for
current year. During tax season, we will prepare your tax returns on
professional software and e-file your returns for you using an IRS
professional software and e-file your returns for you using an IRS
identification number (EFIN). Afterwards, we will offer tax planning
tips to you for the next tax year.
For example:
- withholding or estimated payment recommendations
- analysis of the implications of certain taxable events
- managing tax of IRA distributions and conversions
- estimate of capital transactions such as those involving securities
and real estate
- opportunities to take advantage of often overlooked tax credits,
such as the retirement savings contribution, education, and
residential energy credits.
Frequently information regarding cost basis, sources of municipal
bond interest income and the tax treatment of different types of
dividends and capital gains are reported incorrectly on filed tax
returns. For many of our clients it is a relief to know their investment
advisor and tax preparer are working together regularly to ensure
their tax plan moves in lockstep with their investment plan.
